Client

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)

Role

Web Design

Created a Venue Website to boost the booking rate

I helped the client to revamp the official website for the venue facilities “HKUST Business School Central”, which is located near to the Central Station in Hong Kong. The team and I did this by analyzing the original website, suggested a new structure for the site, and developed a homepage with new visuals that provided the necessary information of the venue like location, floorplan, set up, services, facilities, past events, and method of booking.

“HKUST Business School Central” is introduced by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Business School, which is a premium venue for conferences and events in a prestigious location, Hong Kong Club Building right in the financial hub of Central.

My role in the project

As a Web Designer, I collaborated with our Art Director, Front-End Developer, Project Manager and Marketing Executive in this project. We each had specific responsibilities, and I was responsible for the visual design, wireframe and analysis on the original website with the help of the art director.

Analysis of the original website and site structure

We kicked off the project with a meeting, analyzed the original website, and suggested how we can make improvements to the UX and the structure of the website. We also discussed what kind of changes should be made. Not only the basic information of the venue, but we also decided to show the remarkable photos of the facility, and event held at the past at this venue to show how the set up would look like. There would also be a quick contact form for booking the venue quickly or for inquiry purposes.

Homepage Drafts

From Drafts, Wireframe, Prototype to the Final Product

We revamped the website by following HKUST business school’s branding, emphasizing the selling points of the venue by attractive photos or graphics. Moreover, some animations are used on the website to increase the excitement for the user.
