I helped reduce the bounce rate of the Jebsen Career site by 23% in half a year by revamping the website and increasing the click rate for other pages.
Most of the users visited this website through Linkedin or other recruiter websites like Jobsdb, while they’re trying to apply for a position in Jebsen. Our target is to enhance users to click on other pages too, and to learn more about Jebsen before applying for a position.
The team and I did this by redesigning the website, branding, and even the structure of the website.
As the UI/UX designer, I collaborated with our lead software engineer, front-end developer, and marketing in order to build the final product.
We each had specific responsibilities; my job upfront was to analyze the existing website, provide art direction, create visual prototypes for the new website.
We kicked off the project with a meeting at Jebsen’s office. We analyzed the original website and suggested how we can make improvements to the website. We also discussed business objectives and goals that we would like to achieve in the future. During the process, we defined the needs of the client too.
After defining the project goal, scope, and information architecture with the clients, I created materials for the art direction such as mood boards, and designed some key visuals for the new homepage. Each of them represents a different look and feel and branding purpose for the company.
After discussion with the client, we picked another brand color & font for the career website, based on the target audience of the site would be from fresh graduates to senior-level employees.
We decided on a new art direction and started to work on other parts of the website. I drew wireframes and drafts on other pages like job searching, information, and success story pages, followed by building the high fidelity prototype on InvisionApp, with assistance from animation.
After the first launch of the Jebsen Career homepage, we helped reduce the bounce rate of the Jebsen Career site by 23% in half a year by revamping the website and increasing the click rate for other pages.
